Kata-ru started with two people, a real problem, and a stubborn belief: a quality job search should not take over your life or ask you to hand control to a machine.
We're Diego and María, the founders of Kata-ru. We built an AI-powered job-search assistant that helps you turn your real professional experience into a clear CV, then tailor that CV for a specific role and company. You decide what represents you. You review and approve everything. The assistant never invents experience and never applies on your behalf.

Why we built Kata-ru
If you arrived here looking for an AI CV builder for job seekers, that is the concise answer. But what we chose not to automate matters just as much as what we built.
A job search asks you to do two very different things at once. You need to make serious decisions about your career, and you need to keep completing the repetitive work around those decisions: gathering details, rewriting summaries, choosing examples and checking that every version still sounds like you.
The paperwork can start to feel like a second job. Job searching can produce real exhaustion and a sense that your effort is getting you nowhere. That pressure makes speed attractive, but speed alone does not solve the problem. A faster way to send a weaker or less truthful version of your story is not progress.
We built Kata-ru because we wanted a better division of labour. That principle still governs the product today.
Technology should reduce repetitive work; you should keep the judgment.
A real problem, stated without drama
A general CV may contain years of valuable experience and still leave the reader to work out why it matters for one particular vacancy. Tailoring fixes that gap. It makes the connection between what you have genuinely done and what the role needs explicit.
Doing that well takes attention. You have to read the job description, identify what matters, find the strongest evidence in your experience and reshape the CV without distorting it. Then you repeat the process for the next role.
That is the friction behind Kata-ru. We did not set out to automate the career decision or turn applications into bulk submissions. We set out to make the honest connection between person and role easier to express.
What we built
Kata-ru is an AI CV builder for job seekers in any profession and at any career stage. It begins by building a deep professional profile through conversation. From that profile, it can create a polished standard CV and tailor the CV to a particular job and company.
The profile is the source of truth. Kira, the Kata-ru assistant, asks one natural question at a time and probes beyond job titles: what you did, the context around it, the scope of your responsibility and the result. If you prefer, you can type into a structured editor or begin by uploading an existing CV.
Once the detail is there, Kata-ru can turn it into a clean, professional CV. When a specific opportunity appears, it reshapes that same real experience around the role and company. You can review the result in the editor, make changes and export it as a PDF or Word document.
